The Poeio experience can and should extend beyond the pop-up space in U-12.

 

Ideas to consider:

 

  • Collect favorite poems for ourselves and other

    • Sign up for Poem-a-Day

    • Create an anthology via Poets.org

 

  • Create poetry for The Prairie School

    • Write/read poetry for Primary and Middle School students

    • Write/read poetry for Upper School's Bach’s Lunch-style readings

    • Post poems around school

    • Baskets of words and phrases that must be used by Dining Designers in their poems

 

  • Create poetry for the Prairie community

    • Juvenile detention center, St. Monica’s, etc.

    • Guerrilla Poetry: Leave poems in hidden places at Piggly Wiggly, in full view at gas stations, etc.

    • Blog/Skype with school from different part of the world and share poetry

 

  • Field trips

    • Attend poetry readings (e.g., BONK!)

    • Become tourists in our own town

      • Racine Zoo

      • Racine Art Museum

      • North Beach

      • Cemetery

      • River Bend Nature Center

      • Racine Public Library

    • Become tourists in Milwaukee

      • Milwaukee Art Museum (Open Monday-Sunday, 10am-5pm)
