Dominic Inouye

Dominic Inouye

This is my seventh year at The Prairie School, my sixth as

Co-Chair of the English Department.  During that time, I have had the pleasure of teaching every grade of Upper School English, including Film Studies, Poetry, and Short Story electives.  I am a founding member of the C.L.A.S.S. program and the Editor of Mindscape.

Previously, I taught at Pius XI High School in Milwaukee (for ten years), Marquette University (for five years), and other institutions, including Waukesha County Technical College.  I was a manager at the late Schwartz Bookshops on Water Street (now a Kinko's) and Downer Avenue (now Boswell Books).  Before that, in undergrad, I was a biology major pursuing a career in biomedical engineering (I use the word "pursuing" lightly).

Howdy!

I am the 4th grade Educational Assistant at The Prairie School and have been for the past 5 years.  I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside with a Bachelor's Degree in English.  Currently, I am pursuing a license and Master's in Secondary Education from Alverno College and am student teaching this trimester in the Upper School for nine weeks under the direction of Mr. Inouye.

I enjoy singing, writing, bowling, and watching movies. My favorite books are Toni Morrison's Sula and the Hunger Games Trilogy.
